  1. One of the ways I manage anxiety and stress is laying down and listening to music. For me, music offers an escape from things that are bothering me and are stressing me out. Along with that, some of the music I listen to brings back memories of other times and places in my life, and sometimes if I hear a song I haven't heard in a while I'll be reminded of a previous, less stressful, moment in my life.

    1. Anxiety is a feeling that comes out of nowhere when too many things come up at the same time. When I feel like I'm about to have an anxiety attack I usually go talk to my best friend because he knows what usually me come back to a calmer state of mind. I enjoy having alone time with a good view like the beach during sunrise or a water view at a park. Sometimes thinking about a loved one helps calm my anxiety because it keeps my mind on one focused thought that makes me happy.

  2. 5. Although superpowers can be a blessing, they could also be a curse. But, the superpower I would most likely want to possess would be telekinesis. Telekinesis, is the supposed ability to move objects at a distance by mental power or other nonphysical means. The reason I would most likely want to possess this superpower is mostly because, I could levitate objects with my brain. While most people find super strength, flying, and super speed, cool abilities to attain, I am more interested in telekinesis.

  3. #2) My heroine is my mother. My mother has constantly always pushed herself to her limits and beyond. My mother works day in and day out to provide for my siblings and I. My mother is a strong, caring, and amazing woman. She is the mother and woman I strive to become one day.

  4. 2. A heroine in my life is my mother , she is the definition of a strong independent woman. All throughout my life she has made sacrifices to make sure me and my little sister were always good no matter how impossible things seemed my mother always found a way to get it done. Without her I honestly would not be in the position to succeed that I am today. She is my heroine because all the stuff she does is out of the kindness of her heart and she goes above and beyond even though she does not have to.

  5. 5. If I could possess any superpower, it would definitely be super speed. The thing about super powers is most of them are cool or interesting, but most aren't practical for everyday use. Out of all superpowers, I think having the ability to move faster is the most practical. Having the ability to sleep in and then run to my classes would be an absolute blessing. It would make chores like homework, cleaning, and working a breeze. Literally.

    1. Ha! I love that sleeping in is what you would do with your super power.

    2. I would definetly agree that the power of speed would be my choice. The only reason I would need is to make sure when someone needs me or is in trouble I can get to them no matter how far they are. I hate having a distance between me and the people I love so this would break the boundaries of distance. Nothing is better than when something is wrong you can easily be standing with someone you love.

  6. 2. My hero in life would most likely have to be my cousin Peter. He is the oldest cousin I have and his younger brother got to live a dream both him and his dad have wanted to live since the early 80's: playing international men's volleyball for the USA Men's National Volleyball team. Peter has had to watch Aaron, who is taller and better than him, get to live his dream and he acts so humbly every time I see them together. I wanna be just like him because of that trait he has, that's why he's my hero.

  7. 4. I handle my stress and anxiety by going to the gym and pumping iron, as well as going to a volleyball court, either beach or an indoor court and just practicing or playing the sport I love. It just keeps me from thinking about whatever is going in my life at that moment in time. Working on something takes things off of my mind and it's good for me because I lose stress and get better at what I love.

    ReplyDelete
  8. 5. I would love to have the power of telekinesis. It's such a nice power to have because you can control whatever is around you with your mind. For example you can grab the remote for the TV from the couch when you do not wanna get up. You can also save yourself really easily in dire situations. Ever since I saw X-Men I have wanted that power.

  9. 6. I hope to gain not just an education, but an invaluable amount of friendships from living in the new freshmen dorms, as well as the ability of getting better at volleyball and to get stronger in general. It's not the destination, it's the experience.

  10. Not all heroes wear capes, and my sister is one of them. Being only 14, she holds a high place in my heart. Her compassion for my well being and her caring gestures towards me makes my heart warm. She protects me from all evil, or at least tries to. She tries to help me with so many things even though her little hands can't resolve her own problems. Although she looks up to me, I believe she's my little heroin.

    2. Someone that has been through the most pain for the past eighteen years of his life will forever be my hero. My beloved grandfather has been severely ill for my entire life, literally, but he's never let that get between his care for me. He might have been laying on a bed my entire life unable to move but his smile alone gave me a feeling of safety and comfort. He always told me that I need to bring him my groom and he'll give me the wedding and home of my dreams with no limits or budgets. My grandfather was a man that taught me to never put a price on the people I love. Love was limitless for a man that was limited from everything around him.

  12. Besides an education, what I hope to gain from college is wisdom and experience. I want to be in situations I haven’t been in, where I can experience something new and learn from either my achievements or mistakes. College plays a big role in your life as you mature. I want to learn and take things more seriously than what I used to. I feel that it is very important for me to mature in some way in order to be successful.

    1. Out of my education I want to grow into the adult that can take care of children that need all the care and attention I can provide. I want to learn how to efficiently create events that can help my peers and future patients. I want to learn different ways to accomplish large goals in a manner that I can include as many people to help as possible. I want to learn from my mistakes and misunderstandings because that way I will grow from the inside out.

  13. Life is full of challenges, we all go through anxiety or depression sometime in our lives. The way I cope with my life obstacles is writing. Poems and experts that come from the core of my heart tend to heal the wounds that reside deep within. The notes section in my phone is filled with heartfelt poems and things I want to let the world know without actually talking. And that is how I cope with anxiety, through the art of writing.

  14. I believe that I am known to be a very positive and a well rounded person no matter the situation in my life. That might be one of my greatest strength, I tend to spread positivity and a lot of positives vibes where I go therefore people tend to hang around me a lot. I have a lot of networking from everywhere, acquaintances and a ton of friends. I would definitely say that my greatest strength would be my positive attitude and a drive to succeed.

  15. How Hayya said "not all heroes where capes". Like her I see my little sister as my hero. Even though she might only be 16 she thinks as an adult. He advices and he strength make me be someone she can look up to and want to follow my steps in college and in life. She maybe be younger then me but the way she sees her life its so clean and clear. She is the only one who give me hope when I see things coming down. She is my strength and my weakness as the same time. She is my hero.

  16. 3. What could you do right now to improve your chances of achieving your ultimate success?

One thing I could do to improve my chances of success is to learn how to manage my time. In the past I had trouble in high school with time management. I would procrastinate on work very often and miss the due dates on my assignments often. Therefore resulting in poor grades in my classes . Now that I am in college I know that I will be bombarded with more work than that in high school. However, one advice that I constantly hear since the beginning of this summer is to learn time management. In college, I might be exposed to more work and more responsibility, however, if I learn how to use my time wisely in every hour of each day I would be able to do a lot of things, in a day, with a lot of free time left. In order to be sucessful I need to learn to find a balance between what I need to do and what I want to do.. To improve my chances of achieving success I want to learn time management to gain knowledge on how to use my time wisely so that I can submit my assignments on time and still get a good amount of personal time.

  17. Other then gaining an education I want to gain life experience. I want to see the world and live from my mistakes and accomplishments. Also not to have my parents on me and to show them that I can be independent. I want them to see my as an adult and not their little girl, even though i will always be their little girl. Show them that i can do what maybe people told me I couldn’t. Show them that I'm no longer the little girl who needed help with everything, that I am able to do things on my own.

  18. #4) I relieve stress and anxiety by writing and listening to music. I like to use writing as a way to express the feelings i can't express in words. I also like to listen to music because it gives me an ability to relate to what the artist is feeling. It also gives me a sense of escape and ultimately calms me.

  19. 3. One of the things I can do right now to improve my chances of achieving ultimate success is getting involved in different clubs and programs on campus. By getting involved in things outside of my regular classes on campus I'll better my chances of improving on skills and making new friends. If I'm having a better time at college I'm more likely to do better in classes and ultimately graduate, which is my goal at the moment.

  20. 7. My greatest weakness as a person is definitely procrastinating. One thing that I've never been particularly good at is doing homework at a decent hour or taking care of things diligently. I've always had a bad habit of waiting till the last minute and putting things off. I was the type of guy that would wake up early and do homework before class, which isn't the best idea. I feel that one of the ways I can work on this would be trying to break the habit by getting into a routine of doing homework at the same time everyday. Eventually that routine would become a habit and my problem would be solved (hopefully).

    1. Just like Santos explain that procrastinating is also my greatest weakness. It takes over my mind like a thunderstorm of laziness. It is defiantly something that I need to focus on getting rid of in my life. The only way I can succeed is if I get rid of that habit. I'm trying to succeed and grow but the only thing that will do is pull me down and slow down my growth.

  21. 4) Stress and anxiety is a problem that you won't be able to completely avoid but there are ways you can cope with it as much as possible. To avoid stress and anxiety, I plan very carefully. Time management is a huge factor. Realizing what your top responsibilities are is a must. You get what you need to do done first so you can then enjoy the rest of the free time you got worry free. Try this out once and you’ll be hooked on how good it feels to have priorities done first.

  22. Superpowers will always come with some sort of con no matter how good it sounds. The only power I wouldn't mind having, is the ability to learn faster. I can use this in school, so I wouldn't have to spend so much time studying. I could use this for activities such as learning to play an instrument or learning to complete a new task. I’d like to learn a lot of different languages so traveling would be easier and more enjoyable.

  23. who is your hero or heroin and why?
obviously this question will always come wit a simple and obvious answer. I will have to say that my mom will forever be my hero no matter what. the reason I picked her is because she never stopped believing in me she always told me that she will be there for me in every step on the way, thanks to her I came to this country to have a better life and a better education, she save me from committing some mistakes that at the end I was probably going to regret.

  24. What superpower would you most likely posses and why?
A superpower that I would most likely posses will have to be the power of mimicry. the reason I say mimicry is because mimicry is the power to gain the skills of someone else. I am the type of person that will learn a skill and i will use it until is part of my daily routine. In high school I got the advantages to be in a class where they taught me skills from different subjects and so I apply those skills to my daily routine and has helped me a lot. so that would be one superpower that I would have.

  25. One of my weakness is that I talk a lot in class. I maybe the quite one right now but once I get comfortable that’s when I start to talk. However I can overcome this weakness is by joining some clubs in campus that has to do with public speaking. It would help me in my career and I can overcome it too. Another weakness is that I'm shy. Yes I my talk a lot but I'm shy to speak in front of people. Doing clubs like public speaking can also help me overcome my shyness because they would have me speaking in front of people.

  26. The way I manage stress and anxiety is going to the gym, being with family and friends. For me going to the gym is an escape from my problems. when I'm at the gym I feel like everything I was stressing about just leaves my body and I leave the gym with a relief. Being with family and friends is also a way for me to manage my stress and anxiety because they help me out with it or they just make me forget everything and just enjoy my life. They always say “You have one life and you should live it to the fullest and stress fee”.

  27. My greatest strengths that I have that will help me succeed in life would be that I'm not a person who gives up at all, and I also can multitask. Something my parent taught me when I was very little is not giving up without a good fight. That nothing in life is giving to me that easy that I will always have someone who would try to make me lose hope and make me give up. Being able to do a lot of things at a times is very helpful to me because I can get my work done and it will help me succeed in life.

  28. What superpower would I possess if I could? I think I would take on the power of teleportation because it would help me travel places. I absolutely dislike traffic, people that walk slow, and the cost of most airplane tickets so with teleportation I would avoid all of this. By avoiding all of those annoying things it would prevent a lot of stress and aggravation in my life creating an overall peaceful life.

  29. Besides an education what do I expect from college? I expect a lot of things from college. I expect college to provide me with new journeys, new people, and new things that can better my life. I have been in college since August 20th and sometimes it does pain me to say that date but when I look back I have learned so much about myself and different ways to guide myself and better myself as a person. I have honestly enjoyed most of my college experience because its made me realize that everyone has a story and they are on the same ride as I am and we are all here just to learn new things about life and yourself.

  30. 6. Besides an education, what do you hope to gain from college?

Besides an education, what I hope to gain from college is a new experience in my adult development. During college, I hope to find a new sense of independence where I will have to rely on myself more. I want to gain knowledge on being an adult through my decision making and the situations I may be placed in as a newfound adult. I want to be able to establish who I am as an adult compared to I was a child. Through new experiences, I will be able to set new moral standards and beliefs as I grow as an adult.

  32. A quirk that I have is that I hate when people try to tell me what I need to do without me asking them, I get so angry when this happens but I dont show it at all on the outside. While I am a person who is always welcome to constructive criticism and able to take it in a positive way, when people do it without me initially stating that I wanted or needed their opinion it burns me up inside. This is a part of who I am because I am independent but I also know when I need help.

    4. When I am stressed or having anxiety I deal with it by isolating myself from everybody and everything else, listening to music, and reading. When I am away from everybody and everything it just helps me relax, stay calm, and takes my mind off of whatever is stressing me. Listening to music and reading bring me into a different state of mind where there are just nothing for me to worry about and everything just goes away.

    5. A weakness that I have right now is the fact that I have a very short temper. The smallest things have the ability to make me upset and that is not good. I think a way I can work to get over this weakness is to really take my time and think “is this worth getting upset over?”. I believe stopping and taking the time to think about if I should let something get me upset will help me get over my short temper because I will have time to reflect and I will realize it is just not worth it

  33. 2:The hero in my life is my father. Being a single parent can be hard sometimes, but I have never seen a moment where my father had struggled. He made sure food was on our plates everyday, clothes were on our backs, and that the house was warm and cool when it needed to be. I constantly look up to my father everyday, and use him as motivation. If it had not been for my father guiding me throughout my life all the way up until this point I don't know where I would be today.

  34. 4:I manage stress and anxiety by playing sports, listening to music, and playing to music on the drums. These are three things that are apart of my life that I can truly say I love and have a dying passion for. I began playing football at a very young age, and after that sports became natural for me. Also, listening to music, I feel, is a stress reliever for almost everyone music takes people to different places, and it picks you up when you're down. Finally, playing the drums is a good way to get off steam, but it is also another stress reliever of mine as well.

  35. 7: We know that everyone has weaknesses, although they might not be the same or in relation everyone has them. Me in particular, my weakness would be that, I have very high anxiety and I tend to over think situations before I even take action. To overcome this weakness, there's nothing I could do, besides take action and take on the challenge head on. Most people are scared to do this but, when I am in the moment, all of the anxiety and nervousness goes away.

  36. besides education what do you hope to gain from college.?
Besides education I hope to gain some job experience base on my major. The reason I say job experience is because when I was in high school i was in the dental assisting program, and they taught us how we would work if we decided to work in the front, and also how to work with the dentist and how to work with them. remind you that was only high school so I hope college would be much better and gives me the same chance that high school gave me to start off learning about the job that was given in the dental program.

  37. How do you manage stress and anxiety?
the way i manage stress and anxiety is by watching tiny food videos. I know is so weird but that really makes me feel less stressful they are just so cute and incredibly small that is just relaxing to me. another thing that helps me with stress and anxiety is reading a book. I love reading, reading has impacted me in a positive way that now is my stress reliever and im glad it is, because at the end of the day is just a good feeling to finish a book in just a couple of weeks to start another one.

  39. #9) If someone in an interview asks me to tell them about myself i would tell them that i am a very kind person.I am a family oriented person.I'm someone who believes heavily in just being a good person and treating others the way you should be treated.I love my family and i love the people i am blessed to have in my life. I am who i am today because of the people i have surrounded myself with.

  40. My heroine in life is my mother. Throughout my life my mother has basically been a single parent, I have a dad but even when they were together he wasn't much of a father. My mother worked a full time job my entire life and somehow made the time to completely raise four children. She constantly dealt with hard times but continued to persevere and teach my siblings and I that we should never give up despite all of the difficulty life may throw in our direction.

  41. My biggest weakness is definitely over thinking situations. At times I find myself over thing the slightest things and often worry too much about what other people think of me. This I feel has stopped me from reaching my full potential and has also made me miss out on things I probably really would have enjoyed. In order to fix this problem I really need to learn to put myself first before others because if sometime isn't going to affect me in five years or even a year for that matter I shouldn't spend so much time over thinking it.
